FAQs

Summer School Programme: Anybody above the age of 18 years and/or anyone who has just appeared for their 12th standard exams is eligible for the Summer School.


Pre-University Programme: Students who are currently studying in the 10th, 11th or 12th class may apply.

The Summer School is for 20 days. Starting on 7th May and ends with a valedictory lunch on 28th May 2017.

Your day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end close to 6:30 p.m. Of course, certain special sessions may be scheduled early in the morning or late in the evening depending on requirements of the course.

Summer School Program: You can choose only one course at a given time. This is because each course has been uniquely designed and is for 90 hours each.

Pre-University Programme: The programme runs for 120 hours in which students will learn the following modules -

Academic Skill Development

Career Counselling / Guidance

Sports & Wellness

Academic Modules (Introduction to clusters)

Students must choose 1 cluster from the following options:

  • • Law + Economics + Liberal Arts
  • • Business +Computer Studies + Engineering
  • • Health Sciences + Nursing + Biomedical
  • • Design + Media + Photography

"Yes. After successful completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Programme Completion issued by SIU"

Yes, you can make a request to your institute asking to transfer your credits to your Programme. If you are an SIU student, you may apply for these 6 credits to be transferred to your Floating Credits Programme (FCP).

We will be providing you with the learning material and necessary equipment relevant to your course. You can carry your mobile phones, laptops, CD players, and other personal belongings (management will not be responsible for your belongings).

Students who choose to stay on campus can make use of the various facilities like gymnasium, swimming pool, sports facilities, etc. However, these facilities are available on payment of nominal fee

Pre-university Program: Yes, it is compulsory for participants to stay on campus. Summer School: No, it is optional. Participants may choose to stay on or make their own arrangement for staying off campus.

Yes accommodation is available on a triple sharing basis. There will be separate accommodation for boys and girls.

If participants choose to stay off campus, they will have to arrange their own transport. Symbiosis does not provide transport for daily commuters.

Pre-University Program: Yes, the fees is inclusive of the meal plan.
Summer School: A participant can choose to avail the meal plan. If the participant avails of the meal plan, the fees will differ. However, if a participant does not opt for the meal plan, the Symbiosis campus has a canteen and a mess where participants can eat by paying over the counter.

No, the course duration being just about three weeks, it is not a feasible procedure. The course fees would need to be paid in a single installment before May 5th 2016.

Details regarding concessions/scholarships are under the Fees

1) In case of cancellation before April 30th, 2017 only the amount of Rs.1,500 /- (Non-refundable application fee) will be deducted.
2) In case of cancellation after April 30th, 2017 but before May 7th, 2017, 10% of Academic Fee in addition to the Non-refundable application fee will be deducted.
3) In case of cancellation after 7th May 2017, no amount will be refunded.

Pre-University Program: Yes, it is compulsory to avail of the meal plan.

Summer School: A participant may choose to opt out of the meal plan. If a participant does not opt for the meal plan, the Symbiosis campus has a canteen and a mess where participants can eat by paying over the counter.

Pre-University Program: No, participants are not allowed to leave campus unless a guardian/parent comes to the campus to pick up the participant. However, there will be two excursions organized during the program, where students will be taken off campus and accompanied by faculty.

Summer School: Participants are free to leave the campus but will have to be back on campus before 10 PM. However, participants cannot leave campus if a class is scheduled at the time.

Consumption of alcohol, smoking cigarettes or consumption of any narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances is strictly forbidden on the campus. If a participant is caught in violation of this rule, their enrollment will be terminated and they will be asked to leave the premises immediately. In Addition the fees will not be Refunded

Yes, the campus does have a laundry facility which is available on payment of nominal fee. The rate card for the same will be provided when asked for.

The campus does not have Wi-Fi coverage. LAN cables are provided in the hostel rooms so that participants can access the internet from their personal laptops. Depending on course requirements, some classrooms are Wi-Fi enabled.
